Starehe Girls’ Centre

logo_starehe_girls_centre__schoolLucy Mukuria visited Starehe Girls’ Centre last month, and started up what we hope will be the beginning of a long term cooperation.

This is a national boarding high school that offers free secondary education to financially disadvantaged girls from all provinces of Kenya. The school was founded in January 2005 as a charitable insitution. The schools mission is to provide a homely, supportive environment within which girls from disadvantaged backgrounds can develop their full potential in academic and personal development. Also redress the imbalance in access to quality education and leadership opportunities for disadvantaged adolescent girls.

From January 2014 Learning Means will support five girls at Starehe Girls’ Centre.
